History

In Seattle Washington, on November 21, 1979, Joseph and Amelia Jennings were blessed with the birth of their three daughters, Miriam, Cheyenne and Cree Alexandra.

As the youngest and smallest of the three, Cree was often picked on by her older sisters as they stole her toys and ate her cheerios off her plate. But Cree never put up much of a fight, considering they were both bigger then her. But even at a young age, Cree decided some day she would be able to prove herself to them.
When the three sisters got older, each one developed their own interests. Cree would often spend time outside, enjoying the quiet. Whenever her sister had friends over, she found herself retreating into her room. Not wanting to meet new people she would hide there until they left. But as she sat in her room, she often wished she would have more courage to talk to new people and make friends. Miriam tried to involve Cree more with their friends, but came to realize the more she tried, the more uncomfortable Cree felt. So there would be many times, Miriam would just spend times with Cree. Cheyenne on the other hand really couldn’t have cared about Cree.

When Cree and her sisters were thirteen, their parents told them it was a tradition on the fourteenth birthday for members of their family to gain a spirit animal that will protect them. Each of the sisters reacted differently, for Cree she became filled with hope. For her, she believed if she could receive a spirit animal that was powerful and strong, it would help her gain more confidence in herself.
Over the next year, Cree counted down the days until her birthday. Knowing the spirit animal would take on a shape according to her actions, Cree did everything she could to prove herself. In school she studied even harder, she went out for the swim team and put even more effort into her music practice. Anything she could think of in order to gain favor for a strong spirit animal.

Finally on the morning of November 21st, Cree woke up to hear Miriam scream with joy as her spirit animal, a wolf appear in front of her. Later that day Cheyenne received her own animal, an eagle. Cree though that since she was the youngest maybe hers would appear later that day. But the day passed and nothing appeared. Rather distraught about her spirit animal not appearing to her, Cree’s parents assured her that her spirit animal would come. Days past, then weeks and months. But there was still no sign of anything. Cree became disheartened as she watched her sisters become even more connected with their animals, leaving her with no one.

It wasn’t until her sixteenth birthday, when Cree was sitting outside that she received her spirit animal. Sitting beneath a tree and reading, she felt a small twitch within her. Then she felt something running across her feet. Screaming she jumped up. Looking to where she was once sitting, she saw a small chipmunk on her book that she dropped. At first she wasn’t sure what to make of the rodent staring at it. Then the chipmunk seemed to vanish as it ran up the tree and over to her shoulder. The only thing she could figure about the chipmunk was it was her spirit companion. At this point her father came out to see why she screamed, and was soon delighted to find that Cree had found her spirit companion. Cree’s heart dropped for a moment as she had hoped for something bigger and more fearsome. But then her father said, even the smallest creatures can be of some help, telling her about his blue jay companion. Cree looked at the chipmunk that was slowly falling asleep on her shoulder. She took the chipmunk off her shoulder and held onto it, deciding that maybe it wasn’t so bad. Over the next few months, Cree grew quite attached to her spirit companion, naming it Mitzi. Cree became amazed how fast moving the chipmunk was and was happy to call it her friend.

In late May, her father was asked to be a contractor at a branch of his company that was opening up in Hong Kong. Originally he was planning on turning it down, but then he decided it could be a learning experience for the family, it could build character and according to Cree’s father, one could never have too much character. So in June, the family packed up and moved to Hong Kong for what was only to be a few months. But after a while, everyone, except for Cheyenne enjoyed living there. So when her father was asked if he wanted a permanent position at the Hong Kong branch, he couldn’t turn it down.

When it came time for college, Cheyenne immediately went back to the states, while Miriam and Cree both decided to stay in Hong Kong to attend St. Stephen’s Girls College.

Now Cree is nineteen. She’s ready to prove to herself and her family that she is strong and confident. And with Mitzi by her side, she knows there will be a day when she can.

Personality

Cree is often shy around people she doesn’t know and has trouble speaking loud enough for anyone to hear her. She’s not very good at starting up conversations, never knowing what to say. She doesn’t talk much so most people get the first impression that she’s stuck up. She can become embarrassed easily and often wishes she was invisible.

Once Cree has gotten to know people a bit better, she does enjoy talking and babbling about random things. She will stick up for any of her friends and will be there to help them out of whatever they are in, even if it means getting in trouble herself.

She’s trying to build up confidence in herself, knowing that what her father said even the smallest things can be of help will come into her life at some point.

Appearence

Cree stands at about 5’4” She carries herself small, which only makes her look even smaller then she already is. She keeps black hair cut just above her shoulders and her dark skin brings out her bright blue eyes.
